Be sure to check out the weekly recipe on Recipe Box! This week I have posted a recipe that my Grandma Barnes saved. (I’ll have to tell you about her recipe drawer that I found at a later date!) I believe it is from the late 1970s. I made it this past Sabbath to take to services. I made the chewy version. It turned out a little more like cake than I had intended, but the flavor was great. I want to try the crunchy version next and maybe even see if I can use it for a drop cookie recipe. I substituted butter for shortening and a teaspoon of cinnamon for the rum flavoring. My sister doesn’t like chocolate so I left the chips out. You can bet if I make it for us, it’ll have the chocolate in it. Hope you enjoy!
