This week, I was inspired by our first frost to post a persimmon recipe. Southern persimmons, of course, don’t ripen until after the first frost. I found this recipe for persimmon pie on Pinterest from Pinterest is a great resource for finding recipes, especially when you’re looking for slightly odd ones like this! Anyone who has dealt with persimmons knows that they can be difficult to prepare, but they are a local sweet wonder. I am still looking for a way to easily get the pulp. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

The only substitution I made in the recipe was that I used ginger instead of nutmeg. This is a very simple and easy recipe besides preparing the persimmon puree.
