Anyone who knows me had to know that this rant was coming. The escalation of the “standoff” in Oregon is sad, yes. What is sadder is that the media and others will begin throwing shame around: on the protesters, on the officers. Neither place is where the blame lies.
The blame lies with the Federal government for becoming what it is today. It is infringing almost constantly now on every citizen right we have. They tell us what to buy, where to buy, who we sell to, what we own. At will, they take our land, our guns, our money, our life and family. They in some ways tell us how to live and raise our children. While we are still more free than most of the world, the government is quickly changing that.
Is this really what our founders had in mind? Read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Don’t just let some liberal nutcase or politician tell you what it says, see for yourself. Get informed. Our founders are rolling in their graves. They fought against this very tyranny to insure that their families could find their own way in life. Is that harder than “being taken care of” by a government? Yes, but it’s worth the freedom. If you doubt that this government doesn’t represent a large portion of society, think about this: who do you know that is happy with current taxes? Remember the Boston Tea Party? The nation was not founded with these federal taxes. It’s about time we had a version of our own.
I said that the blame of the death of that brave Oregon protester was on the Federal government. Guess what…. His blood is also on us. That’s right: you and me. For allowing this government to stand. For not standing there with him. For not doing our part to bring this “representative” government back under citizen control. What are we going to do about it?
As you hear different accounts of this through media, please remember this. These were peaceful protesters in an empty building on PUBLIC land. Where was the threat? They weren’t being disruptive. They weren’t rioting and looting and burning people’s property like we have seen in recent events. They were merely staying on land that they had right as citizens to be on and asking the government why. They were simply asking the government why it thinks that it has the right to steal land from private citizens. If only the government determines what is legal, than it can deem anything it does against citizens as legal (hence Obama and…..everything). The government didn’t have the right to evict the protesters much less to arrest them. Our nations founders gave rights to citizens, not governments. Let’s take them back.
“And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;” – Genesis 4:10-11
