This morning I’ve been contemplating natural bug defense for my garden. I have heard that praying mantis and ladybug eggs are available for purchase. Introducing more of these to your area is supposed to help protect your garden from distructive bugs. Praying mantises and ladybugs feed off of these bugs and bring their population down. I think I’m going to get me some.

My question for you this morning is: what about spiders? So far I have been leaving any that I find in my garden area alone. I know there could be a danger once the plants are mature and blooming that spiders will pose a threat to pollinators. While the plants are young, would it hurt to keep field spiders around? I could always eradicate them later when my plants start to bloom. What do y’all think?
