I’m giving a new idea a try. I’ve saved up cardboard egg cartons to try starting seeds in. I’m lining the lids with newspaper to close the holes off. The dirt is some of the rich dirt I saved while digging in the garden. I wrote the variety of plant on the side of the carton with a felt tip marker. I am hoping this idea will save me having to buy commercial versions and recycle the cartons at the same time. This is the first one.
I realized I was about to start running behind so I got out my seeds. For now, I am starting onions (a couple weeks behind), broccoli, jalapeño, and rosemary plants. I’ll keep them on our counter where we have an under-cabinet fluorescent light. I am hoping it is bright and close enough to work good. I can’t wait to see some sprouts!
