“Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.”     – Proverbs 24:17-18

It is human nature to enjoy seeing someone we don’t like having problems. We may even have reason to, maybe we have been badly mistreated by the person. But what does it say about me as a person, if I can enjoy seeing someone else suffer? It would be childish and vindictive for me to wish evil on someone. Maybe their situation has happened to see if I will still help them as I would anyone else. Perhaps I will bring the same situation on myself for taking pleasure in their misfortune. Take the higher road and don’t provoke the Father when He is disciplining someone else.
